Hello Fellow Runners!
Today I took a running field trip out to Waupun, WI, the city of statues. I know this because one nice summer day, my buddy Leah and I took a drive to Waupun and found all of the statues. I wanted to return to find them while I go on a running route. How fun would that be right?
Only thing is, I didn't find any statues. **sad face**
Kinda sad, but I found some other really awesome things, like my friend Kimmy and her husband Ben---tee hee.
We meet at the Harris Hill County Park. The park is right off of the main street near a cemetery. I planned a four mile loop for the three of us that included an adventure through this cemetery.
We ran and then got a little lost. Silly me somehow got us turned around and we ended up backtracking instead of making a loop. Below is the route we were supposed to do and the route that we ended up running.

The actual: (Whoops!)
As you can see...my sense of direction was a little off. Thankfully Ben got us back to a main drag where I could tell him the wrong way yet again to run! LOL. It happens!
I ran 4.3 miles at a 9:41 pace. I was very happy about that pace. Kim and Ben are much faster runners than I so it was good to run with them. It got me out of my comfort zone. I was also very happy that I could keep up...and probably could have finished another 3 miles with them. (However I had a hip tightness issue so I didn't want to chance it.)
We had a good time. We even unplanned to match! Yay! Twinning is winning!
Our shirts were from the Fox Cities Half Marathon that we ran together last September.
This is our pic in front of the Water River Trail. Yes...you can canoe through Waupun too! I'd love to try that one day! Maybe my friend Zoe will lend me a canoe.
My favorite part of the route was this bridge. Simple I know, but I'm a sucker for running across a bridge. It was hard to run on it because of all the snow, but still, worth it.
I promise next week my photos will have cooler things. I know exactly where I am going to go run!

Welcome!
Welcome Runners,
My name is Em, but I like to be called Jane in the blogger world...only because I teach little children and I don't want them to grow up and find me online. For those who don't know, I have been a fitness freak for several years now. While I love fitness, my greatest passion in the field is running!
I've always wanted to run....but it wasn't easy getting here. I tried to start running many times in my life, but I couldn't ever get faster than a fast walking pace. In 2012, I finally moved to a new city and started to explore it through running. After my mom had a health scare, I started working out with a trainer. Then I hooked up with a running group and here I am.
In 2013 I finished my first 15K and first half marathon! Later that year, I PR-ed my first half with a 2:06 time!
In 2014, I PR-ed 8 times with my 10K and 5K distance....I placed 2nd on a local 10K. I was featured in EatingWell Magazine for my weight loss success! I also completed my first run streak.
Also in 2014, I ran 1,000 miles with the month of December consisting of 100 miles!!!! It was a great accomplishment for me! I even pierced my nose in celebration:)
In early 2015 I suffered from a groin tear which benched me for 3 months. It was really depressing and sad. Since then, I've worked back to my old pace and even placed 2nd in another local 5K! I also completed two half marathons (2:15 and 2:08 respectfully.) I also had the opportunity to meet some friends I made through running from the online group that I joined.
So for the year 2016, I am going to embark on a journey....a goal I've been wanting to obtain for a while now!
I am going to explore my world through running. This blog is going to document my adventures and travels while I run. I would also like to run 1,000 miles again, but we shall see. I don't want to overdo things and get injured.
So check out this blog weekly to discover new places I've ran! I'll try to keep the messages brief and update on a weekly basis as much as possible. I hope you follow me and cheer me on with my adventures!
All of the fun will begin on January 1st 2016! Until then, have a great week folks!
